'3 Faces Of DANZIG': Limited Edition DANZIG Figures Available in Time For The Holidays
September 6, 2006OK, so September has just kicked off, but here's a reason to get a jump on holiday gift-giving, especially for the music fan who really does have everything: the "3 Faces of Danzig", a limited-edition toy figure series that is now available.
Three fully-articulated figures make up the collection that highlight different eras of Glenn Danzig's career — "Misfits-version" Danzig which wears his classic skull-and-crossbones black T-shirt from the MISFITS' "Walk Among Us" album cover; "Samhain-version" Danzig, covered in dripping blood ala the "Initium" LP cover, and "Danzig-version" Danzig, which is shirtless and comes complete with the trademark Danzig belt buckle and upside-down-cross medallion necklace as on the "Lucifuge" album. The figures are made of soft vinyl, stand 10-inches tall and retail for $75.00 each.
The "3 Faces of Danzig" toy figures are being manufactured by the Japanese company Medicom and sold in the U.S. By the Chaser Merchandising company in stores such as Spencer Gifts, Hot Topic, comic book/specialty stores, and on the Chaserweb site.
Glenn Danzig will release two CDs over the next few months. The first, "Black Aria II", is set for an October 17 release and is his second thematic classical album and the follow up to 1993's "Black Aria", which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Classical Albums chart. "Black Aria II" is based on Lilith, the mythological first wife of Adam. The second Danzig CD will be "The Lost Tracks of Danzig", a 2-CD set of previously unreleased material that spans the band's entire career, beginning with 1988's "Danzig". Details will be announced shortly.
Danzig continues to run Verotik, his own comic book publishing company, and will soon begin production on "Gerouge", a feature film set in early 1900s-New Orleans that is based on one of his comic book titles.
